DETROIT, MI – April 23, 2008 - MCM Management Corp, a leader in world class industrial services located in Bloomfield Hills, MI proudly announced today that they have been awarded the prestigious demolition contract for Tiger Stadium. The contract, announced today by The Detroit Economic Development Corp, is shared with the Farrow Group of Detroit.
The agreement made with the Development Corp. includes no cost for the formidable demolition process, but the two companies will share the profit from the sale of the scrap – estimated to be as much as $1 million dollars.
Tiger Stadium (formerly known as Navin Field and Briggs Stadium) is located in the Corktown neighborhood of Detroit, Michigan and is famous for hosting the Detroit Tigers Major League Baseball team from 1912 to 1999, as well as the National Football League's Detroit Lions from 1938 to 1974. It was declared a State of Michigan Historic Site in 1975 and has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1989. The stadium has been empty since the Detroit Tigers moved to Comerica Park in 2000.
